ROCK CLIMBING GUIDES
Who doesn't love Thai food?
So you want to go rock climbing in Thailand? Here is our advice on the best travel options, places to stay, foods to eat, and more!
The beaches of Southern Thailand are the epicenter of rock climbing in the country, although there is fantastic climbing in other areas of Thailand, such as the bouldering on Koh Tao, and sport climbing near Chiang Mai. To get to Ton Sai beach, most climbers will schedule their international flight through Bangkok, however it is possible to fly directly to Phuket. From Bangkok, there are 3 ways to get to Krabi (the closest large city to Ton Sai beach). Overnight buses run daily from Bangkok to Krabi and are the cheapest, albeit least comfortable way to get where you want to go. These bus trips take many hours, but cost very little. It is also possible to take a train to Surat Thani, and then continue via bus to Krabi. The most expensive, but most comfortable way to get to Krabi is to schedule a domestic flight from Bangkok airport directly to Krabi airport.
When you arrive in Krabi, your guide will meet you and arrange the last legs of the journey to Ao Nang, where you will board a boat to reach Ton Sai beach, and climbing paradise!
